A YEAR TO LOOK BACK… AND MOVE FORWARD
For Bodegas Martínez Lacuesta, 2025 has been a year to pause, take stock, and confirm that the path taken continues to make sense.

2025 has been a particularly significant year for Bodegas Martínez Lacuesta. A year to pause, take stock, and confirm that the path we have taken continues to make sense. Not so much because of the accumulation of milestones, but because of our consistency in a way of doing things that has remained intact for more than a century.

The central focus of the year has been the celebration of our 130th anniversary. We have not viewed this milestone as a point of arrival, but rather as a reaffirmation. Celebrating 130 years is not just about remembering the past, but about demonstrating that history remains alive when it is supported by present decisions.
The ‘institutional’ celebration was an intimate, almost family-like event, which was complemented throughout the year by meetings with distributors and professionals. All the events held throughout the year served to put into context a history linked to Haro, the origin of Rioja, and a very specific way of understanding wine. 2025 was also the year our new store and wine bar opened, with the aim of always offering better service to those who visit us.

Alongside the anniversary, 2025 has also been a year of recognition for a job well done. The scores obtained in international guides and tastings—Tim Atkin, Falstaff, Guía Peñín—have once again placed several of our wines and vermouths in prominent positions. Added to this is one of the most significant milestones of the year: at The Drinks Business‘ Rioja Masters tasting, our HINIA Blanco was recognized as the best Rioja wine in absolute terms, an exceptional recognition that reinforces the work carried out in a historically demanding category and confirms the validity of our understanding of the great white wines of Rioja.

Within the world of vermouth, this year has been particularly significant. Vermut Reserva has enjoyed a key moment, with a new image, medals, and ratings that consolidate its position as one of the great vermouths on the current scene. It is a product that perfectly sums up our philosophy: to elevate a category through aging and patience.
The anniversary was also the chosen setting for the presentation of two very significant launches. On the one hand, La Centenaria, a wine born from a historic vineyard and conceived as a tribute to time and continuity. A wine that has had an almost unprecedented first few months but has managed to attract the attention of most critics, who have given it excellent scores. On the other hand, Conzia, a very special edition within the world of Vermut Lacuesta, made with the utmost respect for tradition, with an ambitious and long-term vision. Vermouth has also been the star of several editions of La Cata del Tesoro, a highly acclaimed experience that offered a true immersion in the world, history, and philosophy of a drink that, without a doubt and just like wine, makes us better people.

Throughout 2025, we have continued to share reflections that are part of our DNA: the value of time in the production of great wines, the role of Haro as the cradle of Rioja, the relevance of classic wines, and the need to defend our own identity without falling prey to passing fads. Articles, special tastings—such as underground tastings—awards in wine tourism, and various cultural activities, such as the twinning with Jerez, have rounded out a diverse but coherent calendar.

We close 2025 with the feeling of having lived an intense, demanding, and honest year. A year that has not been about doing more, but about doing better. Because if time has taught us anything, it is that true relevance is built over time.
